Rare stick grip made of hand-carved deer antler in the 19th century. The grip is hand-engraved and the design and the carving work adapt to the antlers original shape. This piece is in very good condition, with no cracks or flaws, and has survived to our days looking almost the same as when it was originally made. The carving motive at the front is an Eskimos face, carved by hand with fine and expressive strokes. The part that frames the face imitates the typical fur hat worn by Eskimos: the rugged antlers texture has been ingeniously used to imitate the fur. This item is bone-white and brown, with different tones in its parts. The carved characters face has big eyes, wide nose and strongly closed mouth. It is very expressive and has a great strength, giving the impression that the Eskimo is really alive. This effect has been achieved with very few lines: the artist got a quality work with just a few precise strokes. This ancient stick is the perfect piece to round off an original and elegant stick whose value will rise with its shattering presence.
