Antique Walking Stick. Gold and Silver Damascened Handle. Circa 1900

Antique collector’s walking stick with damascene-style gold-and-silver decorated handle, made circa 1900 and possibly coming from Spain. This piece stands out for its pommel-shaped handle, a delightful work of skilled craftsmanship. This part is made of patinated metal and is covered by a gorgeous damascene work in gold and silver, composed of different geometrical bands which frame the central motif. The decoration is in good condition, almost complete, with just some tiny missing silver pieces which are scarcely visible. The stick’s shaft is also made of solid wood and was originally covered of black lacquer. The finish is quite worn at the top, but the rest is still quite well preserved.

This collector’s walking stick with damascene-style gold-and-silver decorated handle is a very special piece, more than one hundred years old and beautifully made.
