Antique French Liquor Cabinet with Marquetry. Original Key. France, C. 1900
Antique French liquor cabinet with marquetry and original key, with complete ancient glassware and in very good condition. This small and delicate piece of furniture is a true jewel for its beauty and functional quality. The glassware is composed of 20 pieces, four carved-glass bottles and sixteen cups. Not all the cups are the same model although it is tricky to appreciate as they have very similar designs. There are 8 pieces of one model, 7 of another and a cup of a slightly different design. The cabinet is made of ebony-covered mahogany wood with a beautiful French polish finish both inside and outside. The lid and the front side are adorned with gorgeous marquetry work, made of brass and mother-of-pearl pieces. The motifs are complete and finely preserved. The cups and the bottles are organized in a mahogany stand, with embossed-brass separators and handle and also in good condition. The cabinet preserves the original lock and key in fine working order.
This antique French liquor cabinet with marquetry and original key is a lovely piece, made by hand and with an attractive and special design.
