Exclusive vintage marine barometer made of golden polished brass, with white face and glass front. This model dates from the 1970s and boasts a timeless and classic design, being also in perfect working order. It is a Schatz barometer, made in England by a prestigious clockmaker and manufacturer of marine instruments. The barometer is in optimal condition, showing off an almost flawless condition and an undeniable beauty. It is fully functional too, perfect to tell the weather and the atmospheric pressure. At the top of the face we can see the signature of the manufacturing company, Schatz. This brand corresponds to the business founded in 1881 by August Schatz in the German Black Forest. Ten years after its foundation, the company assumed the title of Purveyor to the Grand Duke Frederick of Baden. Later on the marine instruments became their specialty. The Schatz instruments became quite popular in Scandinavia during the 1960s; in 2012 the production moved to Delite, a company located near Copenhagen that had been importing these instruments for years. The barometer that we can see in these images shows off the classic design of this kind of nautical devices: a cylindrical brass body and a circular white face at the front, with black numbers and symbols. The brass body is designed to be screwed to the cabins dashboard or wall. The face bears the classic printed words to indicate the weather and the humidity level, as well as a scale to tell the atmospheric pressure. There is also a printed inscription: COMPENSATED PRECISION BAROMETER. This device comes with a leaflet in German and English with instructions to set the mechanism. Its classic design turns this marine barometer into a highly decorative item, authentic and functional. Measurements: 7 in/18 cm diameter.
