This curious piece, around one hundred years old, is a teacher pointer that was surely used in some school or university. This is a rare article, a collectors piece dating from the first quarter of the 20th century. The pointer is composed of four bodies, all of them made of golden brass except for the biggest one that contains the rest when folded. This component is made of lacquered iron and still preserves a good quantity of the original red enamel that covered it in origin. The enamel is somewhat worn and lets us see the metal cylinder; this detail testifies for the ancient age and the past of this attractive piece. The metal cylinders that make up the unfolded pointer are in good condition; their brass surface has not been polished in order to keep the fine antique patina of the metal. At the end of the pointer we can see a solid beech piece, shaped like a tear and with a soft polished surface. This is the original trimming piece and provides the pointer with a remarkable decorative touch. Because of its rareness and authenticity, this pointer is an amazing collectors piece that will delight every teacher who loves fine antiques. Measurements (folded): Length: 9.29 in / 24 cm.
