Antique Clockmaker's Lathe Accessory in Very Good Condition. Circa 1900

This rare article is an accessory designed to be attached to a watchmakers lathe, used to tune the points of the spindles located in watches movements. The item comes in its original antique case and is in very good condition, preserving all its original component parts. It works perfectly and its delicate pieces and gears move fluidly, though they are all more than one hundred years old. The accessory stands on a solid brass base with a thick curved metal plate attached to it: this plate shows different tuning holes. A crank with a wooden handle lets the user operate the mechanism. The case where this piece is stored is outside lined with faux leather and inside covered by red velvet.
