Big Italian marine compass made in Geneva, Italy circa 1900, in working order and with an amazing design. This is a truly original piece which comes in its solid-mahogany storing box, very well preserved and with the antique leather straps. The compass is really big. Some screws are missing and the glass has a crack, but it appears to be in working order. The dial is printed in black and white and we can see the manufacturers name in the center: G.B. POLVERARA GENOVA. As we stated before the design is really attractive, with a big baroque fleur-de-lis at the top, marking the North. The colored-glass filters are original too. As beautiful as antique, this big Italian marine compass is bound to become part of a great collection of ship antiques or to decorate a nautical-inspired stance. Dimensions: Width: 10.63 in / 23 cm. Height: 8.66 in / 22 cm. Depth: 10.63 in / 23 cm.
