Extraordinary and huge English luxury barograph, made in England circa 1880 and in amazing condition. This is surely a real museum piece, as beautiful as authentic. The barograph is presented inside a solid-oak wooden box with glass top and sides and a drawer at the base. The box is wonderfully preserved and lets us see the fascinating device while protecting it from the dust and any interferences. The watch movement which makes the record paper spin so the stylus can transfer the data is in perfect working order. The key to wind it up is incorporated under the lid. The barometer has not been tested but it seems to be in good condition. Just by the paper we can see an original mercury thermometer, in good condition and with two scales: Celsius and Farenheit. The barograph is make up of different brass and silvery-metal component parts, all original from the time and well preserved. The drawer contains a good amount of unused millimeter pages and a spare stylus too. The barograph comes in its original storing case, made of hard cardboard and covered in fuchsia leatherette outside and of silk moiré inside. The abatable front is detached, but this flaw is easy to repair. This extraordinary and huge English barograph is a superb article, with a great decorative power and in striking condition.
