Beautiful and original telephone made of bone-white bakelite in the 1940s. This telephone comes from Germany and is in wonderful condition. It can also be connected to the domestic line and works perfectly with non-digital lines. The piece is sober and timeless in design, what has turned it into a real icon of the first half of the 20th century, remaining as lovely as when it was made. Its bone-white color is highly original and stands out among other classical designs, usually black colored. The telephone keeps its original cords, mechanisms and pieces and they are all fully operative. The mouthpiece is connected to the devices main body through an old fabric-lined cord, while the telephone itself can be connected to the line thanks to the original wire. Nevertheless the telephone has been conveniently adapted to be used just like new. The bone-white bakelite is very well preserved, remaining soft and shiny and with no scratches or dents. At the front we can see the perforated plastic disk designed to make the phone calls. This is a simple-designed piece that lets us see the fine numbers from 1 to 0, printed in green color, through the circular openings. These numbers appear again (in smaller size) printed in the disk itself, as it is usual in this kind of telephones. If we turn the item upside down, we will discover a series of printed inscriptions in the removable plate that acts as the phones base. They indicate the model (W 48), what seem to be the patents and two logos: a black one with a triangle containing a K, and a red one with a schematic bugle and the number 75.This lovely telephone is a highly original item, perfect to decorate an elegant vintage-style living room.
