German vintage telephone made of black bakelite and with an austere design. This is an original piece that was made in the 1940s and has survived to our days in perfect condition though it has been decades since it was originally manufactured. The telephone has been adapted so it can be connected to home phone lines, working perfectly with non-digital lines. Its design is a real classic from the first half of the 20th century and is part of the iconography of classical movies and retro decoration. This telephones charm is mostly due to its ancient age and nice design, and turns it into the perfect piece to decorate a living room or bedroom with a fine and authentic vintage touch. The telephones bakelite body is in striking condition, with no flaws, scratches or dents. The material looks polished and soft, and has a deep bright that fills it with life. The cord that connects the mouthpiece and the telephone is made up by two slimmer intertwined wires and is original from the time of making. The one that connects the telephone to the phone line is also original but has been conveniently remodeled in order to work with current installations. This model is W 48 and we can read this at the items base, where the model is printed together with other inscriptions. At the telephones front we can see the classic dialing disk, also made of black bakelite. Through its circular openings we can see the white numbers printed on the black background, neat and clear. The disk itself bears the same numbers, also in white but smaller in size. The disk turns smoothly and by operating it we can remember those old and charming telephones of past days. As stated before, at the telephones base there are several inscriptions in red and ochre, among which a logo in the shape of a bugle and with number 213 stands out.The owner of this lovely vintage telephone will not only have a beautiful decorative and functional piece, but also an item that has been a witness of a great part of 20th centurys history.
