Beautiful phonograph made by prestigious brand Columbia in 1891. Its nice execution is enhanced by its age and great condition. The phonograph works well and displays a good sound, high and clear, being made to play two minute cylinders. It cannot play a complete cylinder but it stops in the middle of the reproduction, probably because of the motor spring. Anyway, its beauty and excellent sound quality turn this phonograph into a real collectors item. The box is made of oak wood with deep veneer, and it has a lovely reddish varnish which is in quite good condition. The corners show beautiful dovetail joints, hand-made. In the front the box shows the typical label with the logo of the brand, the patents and the cities (New York London). In the rear there is another shield-shaped label, where we can read a list of prizes that the brand won in different exhibitions. The metal details, the crank and the horn are also in good condition. The horn is very beautiful, long and slim. It is lacquered in black, with the mouth made of brass. We can see the number 414 engraved on the metal plate that supports the horn and the reproducer, just in the front left corner. It is just one more detail of this beautiful and antique phonograph, which will give its owner the pleasure of its sound and its magnificent appearance.
