Rare antique French phonograph with Le Polyglotte reproducer, made in 1906 and in great condition. The phonograph works really fine and can be used to listen to music; in order to do so, it is delivered with two antique original cylinders in amazing condition too. The mechanism is entirely made of silvery-metal component parts, all of them wonderfully preserved. The metal looks shiny and even, with no signs of rust or worn parts. The whole item is composed of a rectangular flat base with a series of rods which support the horn, the mandrel and the gear system that makes it spin (with the original winding key too). The silvery-metal horn is a really appealing piece, also finely preserved. It is connected to an original Le Polyglotte reproducer, a brand name registered in Paris in 1906 by the Société Anonyme des Phonocartes. It is a circular black piece with the embossed inscription LE POLYGLOTTE REPRODUCER framing an earth globe. All the mechanism stands on a solid-oak wooden base in very good condition. The phonograph can be protected and carried with the original wooden cover, which can be attached to the base and mounts a top handle. The cylinders that come with the phonograph are two original Edison models with a nice well-preserved old-time packaging. A hundred per cent original, this rare antique French phonograph with Le Polyglotte reproducer will shine in the living room of a music lover with a passion for beautiful antiques, or as part of a great collection of music machines.
