Fine sterling silver pocket watch, made in France around 1870. This watch is a real antique, highly beautiful and interesting. The watchs movement has been fine-tuned so it works perfectly, just like new. The watch keeps the key designed to wind it up. It has hallmarks in different parts and its face is remarkable as it is decorated with hand-painted motives. The silver box is also decorated by hand, in this case with engraved designs. The face is white and bears black Roman numbers. The hands are straight and simple and are finished in blue paint. This piece boasts a fine hand-painted decoration depicting flowery garlands in different colors: green, blue, pink and black. The decoration can be seen surrounding the face and also around the axe that fixes the hands to the movement. The motives are embellished with a series of small golden metal details that provide the surface with glow and light. On the other hand, the boxs surface is hand-engraved with simple and classical designs. If we lift the rear cap, inside we will find the engraved serial number 7804 together with a hallmark and the silver proportion in weigh (0,800). The dutscap is inside engraved with the inscription CUIVRE P.C. and the same serial number. The French word cuivre means copper and indicates that this piece is made of copper or brass, in contrast with the rest of the box that is made of sterling silver. Under this cap we will find the watchs delicate movement, in perfect working order. The dustcap has two holes for the key: one of them is designed to wind up the watch, and the other lets the user set the handles. This silver pocket watch is the ideal gift and also a real collectors item.Measurements: Width: 41 mm.
