Original pocket watch chain created with 20-crowns silver coins. The chain dates from the early 20th century (1900-1920) and is in quite good condition. The coins are made of silver and so are the links that connect them. The chain was made in Austria, the place where these coins were minted. It has a total of ten pieces that make up a very stylish accessory, antique an original: a jewel worthy of a smart gentleman. The 20-crowns coins are of two different types. On one hand there are five coins with the profile of Francis II (1768 1835). This governor was the last Holy Roman Emperor and in 1804 became Francis I (Franz I), first Emperor of Austria and Germany. He was also Apostolic King of Hungary, Croatia and Bohemia as Francis I. The rest five coins were minted during the reign of Ferdinand I (1793 1875), Emperor of Austria, President of the German Confederation and King of Hungary and Bohemia as Ferdinand V.The coins are in very good condition considering their ancient age, and the portraits and inscriptions are clearly engraved in the metal. The silver links are also well preserved and they are all original, and so are the hook that connects the chain to the watch and the one to fix it to the robe. The coins with the portrait of Francis II were minted in 1831, while the rest correspond to 1848.This fine chain of antique silver coins will enhance the beauty of the most special pocket watch.Measurements: Length: 40.3 cm/15.8 in.
