Striking pocket chronograph and doctors watch with a 18 K solid gold box, made in Switzerland circa 1910. This is surely a collectors piece and was designed for medical use. The watch is in excellent condition and looks as smart and beautiful as when it was made. Its box and three caps are made of gold, framing a nice perfect white face with no hairlines or visible flaws. This face, as well as the attractive black Arab numbers, also boasts a stopwatch and a secondary hand. The most singular feature we can see is the outside crown with red and black numbers and the following inscription in red lettering: BASE 30 PULSATIONS. This sentence indicates that the watch was also designed to take the patients pulse. The face also bears the word Claxon in clear black lettering: the manufacturers name. Over the face, the piece that connects the box and the crown shows a hallmark stamped in the gold. If we lift the rear cap, finely decorated with a flat circular medal, inside we will find again the hallmark together with the inscription 18K that testifies for the quality of the precious metal the box and the caps are made of. Under this inscription rests the engraved serial number: 48263. The dustcap is also made of gold and boasts a series of medals finely engraved in the metal. These medals correspond to the prizes awarded to the manufacturer in different exhibitions and events. Under this cap we can see the watchs movement that preserves all its original parts and components. It has been fully checked and adjusted so currently the watch works like the first day of use. This superb gold medical chronograph is a beautiful antique jewel and a rare piece because of its peculiar design. It is undoubtedly a museum piece, worthy of the best collection.
