Gold Plated Watch, 1950s

This lovely vintage pocket watch is an exclusive piece made in Switzerland in the 1950s. As we can see in the photographs, the outside cap is delicately engraved with an abstract-style decoration that was very popular in those times. This design is still contemporary and attractive, turning the watch into the perfect accessory for the smartest outfit. The watch is made of gold-plated metal and has survived to our days in striking condition. Its movement has been revised and adjusted so nowadays this article works perfectly.As stated before, the outside caps decoration is abstract in style and geometrical-inspired. It is a rationalist design created with a series of rectangular and semicircular volumes disposed on both sides of a vertical axe so they generate an elegant and dynamic composition. The box and the ring are also carefully engraved, in this case with vegetal-inspired fringes. On the other hand, the face shows an original light brown color instead of the typical white background. It has gold-plated hands and Arab numbers, as well as a secondary hand at the bottom. It is in amazing condition.The rear cap bears a series of inscriptions inside. We can see the inscription Walz Gold Double 20 mikron that indicates the quality of the gold the metal is plated with. Under these words we can read Garantie 10 Jahre, meaning that when it was made the watch had a ten year guarantee. Then we can see the articles serial number: 557603. The rear cap has the same serial number engraved in its inner side. Last but not least, the watchs movement is in excellent condition: it preserves all its original component parts and is fully operative.This vintage gold-plated pocket watch will draw everybodys attention as a symbol of elegance and class.Measurements: Width: 51 mm.
