This gold-plated pocket watch is especially remarkably because of its fine design, very original and surprisingly modern. It was made in England in the 1920s and is in very good condition. Its movement has been fully fine-tuned so it provides an impeccable operation. The box is of the demi-hunter kind, a design evolved from the hunter developed in the 18th century. This kind of watches have a front cap with a central opening that lets the user know the time without having to lift the piece. This particular model has a hallmark in the ring and its front cap is flat and softly curved, with the central opening closed by a glass panel. Through this window we can see part of the watchs white face with black and straight handles. If we lift the cap we will see the whole face: it has Roman black numbers and secondary hand. The Roman numbers are also engraved in the cap, surrounding the circular opening and enameled in black. They are clearly visible and well preserved except for the II, whose enamel is slightly worn. Nevertheless this is a scarcely important detail that can be easily restored.Inside the front cover we can see the watchs engraved serial number: 228163. This number is also engraved inside the gold-plated rear cap, with the inscription STAR DENNISON TRADE MARK. Under this piece we can see the dustcap with the following inscription inside: ENGLISH MADE THIS CASE GUARANTEED TO WEAR 10 YEARS, and again the serial number followed by number 36. The dustcap protects a fine and precise movement that has been thoroughly cleaned and revised. It bears the engraved inscription 15 JEWELS SWISS MADE.This extremely beautiful watch of original and functional design is an attractive and classy piece, with all the charm of vintage watches from the 1920s.Measurements: Height (with crown): 61 mm. Width: 65 mm.
