It was founded in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1848. Its founder was Louis Brandt. In 1900 Omega got the Grand Prix in the Paris World Fair, and during the 20th century they became official timekeeper of the Olympic Games. The watch that wore the first man on the moon was also an Omega: the Omega Speedmaster that Neil Armstrong wore during the landing. This watchs face, white and with black and red Arab numbers, is simple and neat. It bears the printed market name and its classic logo. There are two antique restauraqtions over the 1 and over the 7. If we lift the rear cap, inside we will find the brand monogram with the word OMEGA and the serial number 6047458, together with a D. The dustcap is outside engraved with reproductions of the medals awarded to the brand in different events and fairs; inside we can see the same inscriptions as in the rear cap.
