Omega Solid Silver Pocket Watch. Switzerland, Circa 1920. In perfect working order.

Superb Omega pocket watch made of sterling silver with hallmarks. This watch dates from the 1920s and was manufactured in Switzerland. It is in quite good condition and its movement has been cleansed and fine tuned so it works like new. The sterling silver box shows several hallmarks and stamps that speak of its quality and origin. The piece that connects the box and the crown bears one of these marks: a small hallmark deeply engraved in the metal. The fine white face bears black Arab numbers; they are beautiful and decorative and are accompanied by a couple of golden straight hands that create a nice contrast with the white background. Omega brand has always been famous for their watchs quality and precision. The firm was founded by Louis Brandt in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1898. What started as a small watchmaking business began to grow until in 1900 Omega got the Grand Prix in the Paris World Fair. During more than 150 years Omega has manufactured mythical designs such as the Omega Speedmaster, a watch that in 1965 was chosen by the NASA as their official chronometer. In 1969, Neil Young wore an Omega Speedmaster when he became the first man on the Moon.The rear cap is decorated with the classic net-shaped engraved motive; in the middle we can see a flat circle. Inside it bears some marks and inscriptions: the monogram with the market name, two hallmarks and the number 0,800 that indicates the silver proportion. We can also see the serial number 8347917 over a capital H letter. The dustcap is decorated with a series of engraved medals and the brand name, while inside it shows the same inscriptions as the rear cap. Last but not least, the movement bears the serial number 7555239 and the word OMEGA engraved in some of its component parts.
