Silver Clock, Ca. 1880

This fine silver pocket watch is a very special piece and also an antique article. The watch comes with the original chain, a lovely and smart accessory composed of narrow rectangular links connected by small rings. The chain has another slim copper chain attached to one end; the two original keys hang from it, one for winding the movement and the other to set the watch. There is also a vintage coin connected to the watchs chain; it is an Austro-Hungarian krone (osztrák-magyar korona), the official coin of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from 1892 until the empire disappeared in 1918. The watch has a sterling silver front cap decorated with engraved motives: a net background with two flat central shields. The shields are embellished with fine classic floral-inspired garlands. Inside the front cap we can see the number84, the inscription J.SWOLL, the number 3 and the serial number 11656 engraved in the metal. If we lift the cap, under it we will find the watchs lovely face with its white and ochre background and the black Roman numbers. The hands are made of copper and create delicate filigree shapes. The rear cap boasts a fine net-shaped engraved decoration; inside it bears the same inscriptions as the front cap. They are both made of sterling silver. The dustcap is made of silver-plated copper. Outside it bears an engraved French inscription with details of the watchs movement, and inside we can see the word CUIVRE that indicates that this piece is not made of silver but copper. It also bears a mark with the letters RL and the same serial number as before. Under this cap rests the great movement, in perfect condition and that has been fully revised and fine-tuned so the watch works like new. As complete as antique, this silver pocket watch is an exclusive piece worthy of an elegant gentleman or the most experienced collector. Measurements: Height (with crown): 58 mm. Width: 48 mm.
