This amazing pocket watch, made of two-shade sterling silver and in excellent condition, is a model manufactured by Zenith, a Swiss brand noted for its luxury watches. It was made circa 1920 and has survived to our days in very good condition. The movement has been fully revised in order to guarantee a perfect working order. The box and the watchs caps are made of sterling silver with hallmarks; some parts are gold-plated and some are not, creating a beautiful combination. Zenith is a famous brand that manufactures luxury watches, founded in Switzerland in 1865. The business was started by Georges Favre-Jacot who founded the factory in Le Locle when he was twenty-two years old. In 1875 the factory had already one hundred employees. In 1911, Favre-Jacot chose the definite name for the brand: ZENITH, and the famous star-shaped logo. When the watch that we can see in the photographs was made (in the 1920s), Zenith had already manufactured over two million watches. Nowadays Zenith is still an important brand in the field of luxury watches and is part of the LVMH (Louis Vuitton) group. The watch bears a hallmark in the piece that connects the box and the crown: the capercaillie that identifies Swiss silver objects. The watchs face is white with black Arab numbers that are accompanied by another series of red numbers corresponding to the hours between 12:00 and 24:00. The brand name Zenith is also printed in black. The rear cap is decorated with a nice flat shield and inside it bears a series of hallmarks together with the brand name, the silver proportion (0,800) and the serial number 2653148 D. This inscriptions and marks are also engraved inside the dustcap that protects a wonderful movement signed with the word ZENITH and with the serial number 1662836 engraved in the metal. Zenith watches are a paradigm of luxury and precision. This particular model is a good example, being also an original piece from the early 20th century. Measurements: Width: 52 mm.
