This amazing pocket watch, quite decorative and working perfectly, is a design manufactured by Elgin in the 1920s, in the United States. This piece is full of beauty and elegance with its hand-engraved shield and a fine net-shaped decoration. The watch is in good condition and its working order is great: the movement has been fully cleansed and fine-tuned in order to guarantee it. The box is made of gold-plated metal and the movement is signed by the manufacturer, making up a piece full of interest and personality. We can see the manufacturers name, Elgin, in different places. It was founded in Chicago in 1964 by several important men, among them the then-major of Chicago. The company (that was called Elgin National Watch Company) was very successful during the 19th and 20th centuries. Curiously enough, during World War II the factory stopped the production and started making devices and watches for military use. In 1968 the production came to an end and the rights for the Elgin brand were purchased by MZ Berger Inc. This lovely watchs front cap bears a hand-engraved shield in the center, with the rest of the background decorated with a net-shaped motive. The face is white, with nice black Arab numbers and a secondary hand. Inside the front cap we can see some marks and the inscription KEYSTONE WATCHCASE over serial number 7352856. The dustcap bears the same number engraved in the metal, in this case with the inscription GUARANTEED J.BOSS 25 YEARS. Last but not least, the movement is composed of small precise pieces in excellent condition, some of which have been marked with inscriptions such as the manufacturer companys name and the serial number 16972366. As nice as functional, this striking pocket watch will be the perfect accessory for the classiest garment. Measurements: Width: 51 mm. Height: 63 mm.
