Gold Plated Pocket Watch with Black Fob. Switzerland, 1930s

This striking gold-plated pocket watch is a very special piece that comes with an elegant black watch fob. It is an art-déco style model, a decorative style that was highly popular in the time when the watch was manufactured: the 1930s. The watch is in good condition and boasts a contemporary and classy look, being the ideal accessory for an elegant gentlemans robe. The front cap is decorated with a sober grid motive, with the squares adorned with horizontal and vertical parallel lines in an alternate disposition. Inside the cap we can see an engraved monogram with the letters R and W and an anchor between them. Just below rests the word MICROSOL and then the serial number 125239. The number 239 is also engraved in the edge of the caps and the box. Under the front cap, the watchs face has a grid light ochre background with golden metal Arab numbers. It has a golden metal hands and a secondary hand too. The rear cap bears a similar decoration as the front one. Inside we find a German inscription with information about the gold-plating and the boxs guarantee. The serial number is also engraved here. The movement, on the other hand, is in very good condition and has been fully fine-tuned to guarantee an optimal working order.
