Magnificent Omega Pocket Watch in Solid Silver. Switzerland, 1926

This beautiful pocket watch is a real Omega, made in Switzerland in 1926. The watchs box is made of sterling silver in two finishes: gold-plated and regular. It bears contrast in different parts that guarantee the metals quality and origin. The clocks movement is in quite good condition, having been fully cleaned and fine-tuned to provide an optimal working. The watch has hand-decorated rear cap and bears the companys name engraved in different parts. Omega watches are worldly renowned for their precision, quality and good design. The history of the brand started in 1848, when the watchmaker Louis Brandt founded the company of the same name in the Swiss city of La-Chaux-de-Fonds. When Brandt died in 1879 his sons inherited the business and started making their own pieces and component parts to assemble the movements. In 1880 the factory moved to Biel/Bienne, where it still remains. Nowadays Omega is part of the Swiss Swatch group and still produces high-quality and modern-design models. The watch has glass front cap with a gold-plated silver ring framing the glass pane. At the top of the watch we can see a capercaillie-shaped hallmark, just in the piece that connects the box and the crown. This hallmark is usually present in Swiss sterling silver pieces. The face is white and simple in design, with secondary hand and the word OMEGA printed in black lettering with the brand logo (the Greek letter ?). The rear cap is decorated with an elegant hand-engraved flat shield; its inner face bears several hallmarks and inscriptions such as the silver proportion, the brand logo and the serial number 6045621 3. The dustcap, whose front side is decorated with the word OMEGA and some medals, also bears hallmarks and protects the great movement, signed and with serial number 6128198.
