Striking gold-plated pocket watch in very good condition and working order. This is an Elgin watch, made in the United States in the early 20th century (1908). The watch is gorgeous and has a gold-plated box decorated with delicate hand-engraved motives. The movement has been fully cleaned, fine-tuned and checked so today the watch boasts an impeccable working order. The watchs face is well preserved and stands out for its sober and elegant design. The front cap shows a net background with a flat central shield and some vegetal-inspired motives engraved by hand at the top and the bottom. Under this cap we can see the watchs face with white background and black Arab numbers. The minutes are indicated with red numbers. The hands are straight and slim, made of cobalt blue metal. The face bears the printed companys name, ELGIN. This name corresponds to the Elgin National Watch Company, an American firm founded in 1864 in the city of the same name located in Illinois. Between 1867 and the 1960s, Elgin made millions of writs and pocket watches and was considered one of the most important watchmakers in the world. The watchs rear cap bears an engraved decoration similar to that of the front cab but with no central shield. Inside it bears the serial number 7480827 engraved in the metal. Under this cap remains the dustcap, with flat surface and a fine inscription engraved in its inner face: Windsor GUARANTEED 20 YEARS B.W.C.C.O and the same serial number. Last but not least, under the dustcap we find the wonderful movement with the company´s name engraved in one of the delicate pieces and its own serial number: 12996712. Its timeless beauty and excellent performance turn this Elgin pocket watch into a real jewel worthy of the most elegant gentleman. Measurements: Width: 50 mm. Height (with Crown): 64 mm.
