Handsome Waltham Gold Plated Semi-Hunter Type Clock. England-USA, 1908

Striking and original gold-plated demi-hunter pocket watch. This watch dates from 1908 y stands out because of its nice finish and the attractive design typical of this kind of models. The watchs movement has been checked and fine-tuned to guarantee an optimal working order, and the gold-plated box is in excellent condition too. The pieces are made with two plates of 10-carat gold with plate of composition between, something stated in the inscriptions engraved in the dustcaps inner side. The front cap bears a central hole that lets us see part of the handles. Outside it bears an engraved circle with Roman numbers so we can tell the time without lifting the cap. Inside we can see the boxs serial number: 463251. The watchs face is protected by the original glass and bears black Roman numbers on a white background. We can also read the manufacturers name: Waltham. The Waltham Watch Company was an American watchmaker firm that produced about 40 million units between 1950 and 1957. The watchs rear cap is flat and inside we can see the engraved manufacturers name: DENNISON WATCH CASE CO. This company was founded in 1862 by Aaron Dennison, and wa located in Birmingham, England. His factory provided the London office of the Waltham Watch Co. with watches boxes. In 1905 it was renamed the Dennison Watches Case Company. As well as some logos and marks, the dustcap also bears the engraved serial number. The movement, beautiful and precise, is signed by the manufacturer and also boasts the following serial number: 19442296.
