Antique Lady's Watch in 14 K. Solid Gold. Switzerland, Circa 1910

This impressive ladies watch, made of 14-carat solid gold, is an amazing piece around one hundred years old. The watch is in excellent condition and works wonderfully. To guarantee it, its movement has been revised and cleansed by a professional so currently the watch boasts a flawless working order. The box has three caps, two of them made of gold; the front and rear cap are decorated with delicate motives engraved in the noble metal. The front door shows a series of vegetal-inspired motives disposed in front of two concentric circles, accompanied of classic volutes and framing a stylized central detail. The background is embellished with a fine net-shaped decoration. Inside this cap we can see the serial number 73562 partially erased, accompanied by a five-pointed star. There is also a hallmark depicting a capercaillie, the symbol of Swiss noble metals. Under this piece lies the watchs face, white and with black Roman numbers. The hands are golden and boasts a nice filigree design. The rear cap shows off a stylized vegetal-inspired decoration, similar to the front caps but with subtle differences. In the center we can see a flat shield with no engraved inscriptions. Inside this cap remain the same inscriptions and hallmarks stated before. Under this piece, the dustcap shows the serial number 72562 together with the inscription Remontoir Cylindre 10 Rubis, concerning the watchs movement. We can also see the word METAL that indicates that this cap is not made of gold. Last but not least, the movement is quite well preserved and works fine. This solid gold pocket watch is an ancient jewel, full of decorative beauty and with all the charm that can be found in the finest antiques. Measurements: Width: 32 mm. Height: 40 mm.
