This amazing verge pocket watch was made in Switzerland in the early 19th (circa 1800). It is an antique piece that nevertheless works fine and remains in excellent condition. The watch have quarter repetear that can be heard when pushing the crown. The movement has been cleaned and fine-tuned in order to guarantee a perfect working order. We must say that the chimes strike three minutes after the hour this is normal for the watch, due to the watchs ancient age, something logical for a movement more than 200 years old- This detail, though, does not diminish the watchs charm and quality: it still that shines for its elegant and simple look. The watch is made of solid silgver and has a glass front cap with the original glass pane in good condition. Under it remains the simple and sober white face with black Arab numbers and cobalt-blue hands. We can see the holes designed to wind up the watch and set the time. The face is made of enameled metal and is wonderfully preserved. The rear cap is decorated with a net-shaped motive and an central circle designed to bear the engraved owners initials. Inside we can see the serial number 40340 and two hallmarks: one of them shows the capital letters F D and the other depicts an arrow-like shape, the Swiss silver hallmark. Under the rear cap remains the dustcap, made of flat golden brass. If we lift it we will reach the watchs stunning movement, a delicate system composed of gears and metal parts. The brass escape wheel shows an amazing design composed of fine filigree volutes. The movement also mounts a silvery metal piece with the inscription Advance-Retard printed in a beautiful black lettering.
