Gorgeous antique nielloed-silver pocket watch made in Switzerland for the German market circa 1910. The boxs amazing condition is quite remarkable, as nielloed finishes are delicate and fragile and usually show signs of wear and material loss. Nevertheless, in this case the nielloed finish is in impeccable condition and preserves all its beauty, creating a very original piece. The box is made of sterling silver with hallmarks and the movement has been fully checked and fine-tuned in order to guarantee a perfect working order. The boxs front cap shows an amazing checkered design with a central flat shield. The combination of silvery and black squares is really attractive and dynamic, quite uncommon in this type of designs. Over the front cap we can see a hallmark stamped in the piece that connects the box and the crown it is a capercaillie, the symbol of Swiss sterling silver. Inside the cap we find the serial number 116 and a mark with the inscription NIEL FF. Under this cap remains the watchs face with black Arab numbers, secondary hand and fine coppery filigree hands. The rear cap shows the same checkered decoration as the front one but with no central shield. Inside we can see the same marks engraved in the front cap. Under this piece we find the dustcap, made of flat sterling silver. In its inner side there are several hallmarks: the Swiss silver mark, the German hallmark and the silver proportion (0,800). As for the movement, it is composed of delicate golden pieces with the serial number 355359 engraved in one of them. The boxs edge also the serial number engraved in the caps, too: 116.
