Beautiful antique pocket watch with 18-carat gold box, in amazing condition and working order. This watch shows a very special beauty and is wonderfully preserved. It was made in Switzerland in the late 19th century and seems to have not been affected by the trace of time: it preserves all its original component parts and the box looks great. The movement has been carefully cleaned and fine-tuned so today the watch works fine. The gold box bears a lovely engraved motive in the front cap, made by hand and with a flat central shield for the owners initials. Under this cap we find the watchs face, very attractive and mounts filigree golden hands, decorated with tiny antique-style-cut diamonds. It has Roman black numbers and a secondary hand. The rear cap bears the classic engraved net-shaped background; inside it bears the engraved serial number (6507) and the inscription K18 for the carats. Under this cap remains the dustcap with a series of inscriptions in different types of lettering. Among these inscriptions, the most interesting one would be the one for the watchmaker, Pateck & Cie. Geneve. Pateck brand was created by Armand Schowb & Frere, two brothers who founded a business in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in the 1850s. The rest of the inscriptions describe the watchs movement and indicate that it contains up to 32 rubies. Under this cap we find the delicate movement, protected by a transparent glass pane. This awesome antique pocket watch boasts a flawless operation and a classic and lovely design. It is surely a timeless and quality piece. Measurements: Width: 50 mm. Height (with Crown): 66 mm.
