This wonderful hunter case solid 18K gold pocket watch is a very ancient piece, more than one hundred years old. The watch was made in Switzerland circa 1900 and has survived to our days in very good condition and working order. Its movement has been cleaned and fine-tuned to guarantee an optimal performance. The case is made of 18 K solid gold and bears hallmarks in the ring and inside the caps. The watch has a quarter-repeater movement and a chronograph, both working perfectly. The front cap is flat and even, with no decoration whatsoever; this fact turns the watch into a timeless piece with a simple elegance. The case has a couple minor hits that can be seen in the photos and another near the hinge. At the top, beside the crown and the ring there is a gold button that starts and stops the chronograph. Inside the cap we can see the hallmark and the carat number: 18K. Under this mark remains the partially erased serial number: 556. The watchs face is white, with golden hands and red and black Arab numbers. The rear cap is similar to the front cap: flat and made of solid gold. Inside we find the same marks and inscriptions, together with the complete serial number: 45556. If we lift this cap we will reach the lovely dustcap, with its external face bearing an engraved inscription describing the medals awarded to the watchmaker in different universal expositions. The images of these medals provide the watch with a remarkable beauty. This cap is made of gold too and so it bears the mark 18k engraved inside, and again the serial number. The movement revealed when the dustcap is lifted is delicate and precise, composed of tiny brass and silvery-metal pieces. This awesome antique solid gold watch is an exclusive piece that any lover of special objects will long to own. Measurements: Height (with Crown): 70 mm. Width without Crown: 52 mm.
