This beautiful hunter case solid gold pocket watch is a very elegant article, well preserved and working fine. It was manufactured in Switzerland in the late 19th or early 20th century (circa 1900) by Cesar Huguenin Fils and its movement has been thoroughly fine-tuned to guarantee an optimal performance. It is a minute repeater watch. The watch has a solid gold 18 K case with flat front and rear caps. The watch bears a hallmark in the piece that connects the crown and the box; this mark testifies for the quality and the origin of the 18K gold. Inside the front cap we can see a mark with the inscription 18K, referring to the golds carats. Below there is a mark with two initials, AL, inside an oval shape, and then the partially-erased serial number. Only two numbers remain: 3 and 1, but we know that the complete serial is 30351 as it is also engraved in the rear cap and the dustcap. The watchs face is white and bears big black Arab numbers; it has some hairlines but no damage and is generally well preserved. At the top of the face we can see the inscription César Huguenin Fils Ponts de Martel. The Huguenin family came from Le Locle and some successors established in different cities of the Swiss Neuchâtel region (among them, Les Ponts-de-Martel). The rear cap, also made of gold 18 K, bears inside the same marks as the front one and also the stated complete serial number. Under it, the dustcap repeats these inscriptions. The movement that we find if we lift this last cap is gorgeous and delicate. One of its pieces is signed with the complete manufacturers name, Cesar Huguenin Fils and city of location, Le Locle, also printed in the watchs face. The quality that this gold watch boasts and its ancient age too turn it into a charming and charismatic article. Measurements: Height (with Crown): 60 cm. Width: 48 cm. Weight 77 grams
