Impressive Geneva 18 K Gold Pocket Watch Signed by Huguenin. Switzerland, 1900

Wonderful solid gold pocket watch in great condition and very good working order. Both the box and the movement are signed by the manufacturing company, G.A. Huguenin & Fils, a renowned Swiss firm that made watch and embossed metal items. The watch is fully made of 18 K solid gold and if outside it looks sober and stylish, inside it glows with a lovely engraved and embossed decoration that stands out for its fine aesthetic. The movement has been fully fine-tuned in order to guarantee a perfect operation, so now the clock works greatly. The front cap is decorated with a simple engraved net motive, typical of many watches from that period. Inside this cap we can see the 18K mark (the golds quality) and the number 38. This cap protects the gorgeous metal face where the manufacturers name can be clearly red: G.A. Huguenin Et Fils Ponts Martel. This company was founded in 1868 by Fritz Huguenin and Gillocheur Albert who opened a small workshop in Les-Ponts-de-Martel, Switzerland. Though in the early days they only manufactured simple watches, soon they started engraving the boxes to create charming and lovely models. The business grew and medals began to be produced too. Today the company is still active in the same factory they opened in Le Locle in 1899. The watchs face is made of silvery metal and has a beautiful decoration made with golden metal in different shades of gold. It bears black Roman numbers, secondary hand and slim blue metal hands. The rear cap shows some tiny dents that scarcely interfere with the beauty and the attractive of this watch and tha can be seen in the pictures. If we open it, inside we will discover the complete serial number: 115378. The dustcap is made of gold too and shows a series of inscription that tell us about the manufacturer and the movement; the serial number is engraved in the outer and inner sides. The amazing movement is also signed; the same serial number is engraved in one of the component parts, too. The watch closes perfectly fit and the spring of the front cover works perfectly and opens it quickly to the correct position.
