This amazing G. Wahl & Co pocket watch is a real antique jewel made of 18 K solid gold and with a precise and fine movement. It is a Swiss watch with commemorative engravings of the IV Centenary of the Discovery of America, so it is dated in 1892. The watch is in really good condition and only shows some slight dents in the edge of the box and that can be seen in the pictures. Nevertheless, the beauty of the gold it is made of and of the hand-engraved decoration of the caps gets this detail to go nearly unnoticed. The watchcase and closes perfectly fit an the spring of the frontal cover is in good conditions, opening it quickly to its correct position. The watch bears hallmarks in different parts that indicate the origin of the gold box and the quality of the noble metal, being Switzerland and 18K gold. Inside the caps we can see a mark with the inscription 18K, related to the golds quality. The Swiss-gold hallmark is also present, together with the serial number (complete or not): 694 and 45694. In the watchs face, the dustcap and the movement we can see the manufacturers name, G. Wahl & Co. Though, it seems that the box was later engraved in Spain or for a Spanish-speaking country as the front engraving includes the inscription CUARTO CENTENARIO WDCCCXCII (Fourth Centenary). The two engraved scenes that decorate this lovely watch are made by hand and boast a great beauty. They depict two scenes related to the Discovery of America, both with a singular charm. The watchs face is white with black Roman numbers and is in great condition. Inside the box, the dustcap shows a series of fine descriptions with details about the movement. As for the movement, it has been fully fine-tuned in order to guarantee a perfect performance. One of its component parts bears the engraved manufacturing companys name in a stylish signature.
