This wonderful antique Pauh Boch pocket watch was made of 18 K solid gold and manufactured in Switzerland circa 1890. In spite of being more than one hundred years old, it is quite well preserved: it only shows some tiny lateral dents, that do not detract beauty to the watch and that can be seen in the photos. The watchcase closes perfectly and the spring of the front cover is in good condition, opening the watch quickly to its correct position. The movement has been fully cleaned and adjusted so currently the watch works like new. Keeping the time perfectly. Among the different parts of the box, the most amazing is the front cap with its lovely hand-engraved shield framed by a flowery garland. In this motive, the precision and delicacy with which the flowers and volutes that frame the shield have been engraved is an outstanding feature. There are many shadows and the shapes are quite deep; these are signs of the work of a great artist. Under the cap we find the watchs sober face, white and with black Roman numbers and straight blued hands. Over the face, in the piece that connects the crown and the box we can see the 18K hallmarks that identifies it as made in Switzerland. The rear cap is decorated with the classic engraved net background; inside we can see the mark with the golds carats (18K), the hallmark (a capercaillie) and the serial number 33161. Under the rear cap rests the dustcap, beautiful and very well preserved. This cap shows the classic inscriptions in different types of lettering with the manufacturers name (Paul Boch Genéve - Geneva), the stated serial number and some details about the movement. This cap is not made of gold. The movement that rests inside the box is composed of delicate silvery-metal component parts, all of them original and in perfect working order. Measurements: Width: 47 mm. Height (with Crown): 70 mm.
