Saboneta Pocket Watch, Switzerland, Gold 14K, Year 1880

Solid 14k gold watch, saboneta, Swiss manufacture and elegant finish with a case that shows an important engraving work and dated around the year 1880, XIX century. It features the pendant and crown at III o'clock, on whose neck it shows a contrast. Both the front and back covers are decorated with ornaments representing splendid concentrically arranged vegetal forms. The variation in both covers is represented by the central motif that, in the front cover, turns out to be a shield empty of initials of any owner, while the back cover presents another vegetal ornamental motif. On the back of the back cover is engraved the serial number "73615", which is again indicated on the dust cover. It is in perfect working order and in a good general state of preservation. The dial is presented in white enamel on convex copper and is without hairs or cracks in the porcelain. It shows Roman hour numerals in black enamel and Arabic numerals for minutes and seconds; likewise, an alternative Arabic numerals of 24-hour time format is inscribed on the inner perimeter of the Roman numerals, that is, in its lower part, perceiving some chipping in numbers 14, 15 and 16 only. The needles are of the whip-spike type in gilded brass or gold. It has a seconds hand at VI o'clock. The dust cover describes the characteristics of the case and the machinery it protects: "Remontoir. Ancre. Ligne Droit 15 Rubis. NO. 73615." Machinery in gilded brass type Avance and Retard that, at first sight, already shows four of its fifteen rubies". Winding and time change system by the crown. Diameter: 52 mm.
