Precious saboneta watch, profusely decorated with natural motifs, in solid 14K gold. In perfect conditions of conservation and operation, the front cover is decorated in its central part with a spectacular shield in gold of three colors: pinkish, orange and greenish surrounded by varied ornamental motifs. The shield is not engraved. The natural decoration of the back lid represents a bucolic scene, also in solid gold polychrome, with two little birds around their nest surrounded by ornamental motifs identical to those of the previous lid. Likewise, the box is profusely decorated with a repetitive motif, a custom of the Waltham house since the 1830s, 19th century. Following the previous decorative preciosity, the dial is presented in white and pink enamel on convex copper, highlighting among its Arabic numeral indications in black enamel some beautiful half moons resolved in golden enamel, also used by points for the exact time indication; likewise, the inner perimeter of the numbering is highlighted by silver enamel ornamentation. The hands are of the pike type and show seconds at VI o'clock. The manufacturing company has stamped its signature on the dial: "American Waltham". On the back of the front cover is engraved the serial number "99595", which is also shown on the back cover; the latter shows the quality of the gold: "Elgin Commander 14K". Towards the end of the 19th century, Elgin produced all the cases for the Waltham company. The dust cover is personalized with the engraved dedication "Lizzie from Arthur 1896", which confirms its year of manufacture. The machinery is in gilded brass, the caliber is three-quarter round, with anchor escapement, the regulator can indicate "F" and "S". American Waltham Watch Co." is engraved on the mechanism, as well as the serial number "13574717". The winding system is by the crown, which is located at III o'clock, as well as the time change.
