ALPINA Art Deco Pocket Watch in silver niello, made in Germany in 1930. This is a beautifully made watch, which perfectly reflects the characteristics of Art Deco style in its shape and decoration. The nickel silver case is decorated on the front by a circular fretwork based on straight spirals very consistent with the style. The gold-colored dial has double Arabic numerals lacquered in black; for 12 and 24 hours. The central hands in cobalt blue are topped with an openwork diamond that makes them very elegant. It has a dial for the minutes at 6 o'clock. The golden dial has slight signs of use in some of the numbers, but does not detract from the beauty of this genuine piece. At the top center is the ALPINA mark written in simple script. The crown is located at 12 o'clock and allows winding the watch. The upper circular glass cover opens completely by means of a lower hinge, leaving the numbering visible. The crystal is the original crystal of the watch, and is in a very good state of preservation. The back case is decorated with a succession of vertical lines, alternating with the same fretwork found on the front, and a central shield without engraving, very consistent with the characteristic geometry of the Deco style. The case has a double back cover, the inner one engraved with the brand name: ALPINA, plus the marks of the German silver: 800, the moon and the crown, and the name of the watchmaker: Niel HF, and the serial number: 7077101.52. The ruby machining also appears signed with the maker's brand name, attesting to its originality. It is in good working order, so it can be used from day one if desired.A beautiful and genuine Art Deco watch that every good collection should have.Measurements: 50 mm (case diameter without crown) Weight: 65 gr.
