Gold Pocket Watch, 1896.

Magnificent chronograph pocket watch made of 14 carat solid gold in 1896. It has hour and quarter chimes. The watch has a lovely even box made of 14-carat yellow gold, with double cover and dust cover for the machinery. The white-lacquered face shows Arabic numbers and circular chronographic scale. The hands are very decorative, with openwork and beautifully handcrafted in a Louis XIV style. There is also a very slim second hand. The watch has a small second face with Arabic numbers. All the face is in good conditions, with no cracks and neat numbers. The crown is placed at three. This piece has a front cover which protects the face and a double rear cover to protect the machinery. They can be opened pushing some side buttons. The rear cover hides an inscription with the medals of the company: Medailles d´or. París 1889, París 1890 y Geneve, 1896", and the description of the way the watch works: Heures Repetition Quarts. Chronographe. Inside the dust cover there is an inscription which indicates the quality of the gold: 14 kts (14 carats), the gold contrasts and the serial number: 118111. When we open the dust cover the magnificent machinery with rubies becomes visible. The watch has hour and quarter chimes and is in perfect working order. This fantastic watch is made of solid gold, and we can see the contrasts that testify for its value on the three covers. It works perfectly and is ready to be used from the very first day.
