Antique Gold Pocket Watch with Chime, Chronograph and Calendar. 1880

This wonderful antique pocket watch is a high-complication model with 14 k solid gold case and in perfect working order. The watch has quarter repeater, Chronograph and calendar with month day, week day month name and moon phases. It was made in Switzerland in the late 19th century (circa 1880); though being more than one hundred years old, it works really fine. The movement has been carefully cleaned and checked in order to guarantee a perfect performance. The front and rear cap are flat and even, quite an elegant detail that provides the watch with a timeless design. The outer caps inner sides bear different marks indicating the golds carat and proportion (14K 0,585), the Swiss 14-K gold hallmark (a squirrel) and the serial number. The Swiss gold hallmark can also be seen in the neck that connects the crown and the case. Under the front cap rests the wonderful white-porcelain face with a perpetual date complications including chronometer, secondary hand, month, moon phases, day of the week and day of the month. The face bears black Arab numbers and golden filigree hands. The dustcap that protects the movement is made of gold-plated metal. Its outer side bears a series of engraved inscriptions with the prizes awarded to the maker and some data about the movement. The movement is delicate and precise and mixes silvery-metal and golden-brass gears.
