Beautiful antique pocket watch with solid silver case, made in Switzerland in 1900 and in working conditions. The box is has three silver caps; one of them bears the name H. GROSJEAN engraved in the metal. This name surely corresponds to Henry Grosjean, watchmaker and trader that worked in Geneva, Switzerland in the second half of the 19th century. The watch bears hallmarks in all its parts; this guarantees the quality and the origin of the noble metal the case is made of. The movement has been fully cleaned and tuned in order to guarantee an optimal working order. The silver front cap is decorated with a lovely vegetal motive with classic volutes. In the center of the piece we can see a flat shield-shaped cameo to engrave the owners initials. Inside the cap bears a fine zigzag background decoration and a top cartouche with different marks. We can see the capercaillie-shaped Swiss assay mark and a curious locomotive-shaped mark with the silver proportion (0,800) inside. Under this cap rest the amazing white dial with black Roman numerals, lance cobalt-blue hands and a secondary hand. The minutes are marked by peripheral Arab numerals. The rear cap bears the same engraved decoration, hallmarks and inside decoration as the front cap. Under this piece we find the dustcap (also made of solid silver) with the name H. GROSJEAN GENEVE and the serial number Nº 56373 engraved in the metal. Inside we can see the locomotive-shaped mark with the silver proportion and the serial number; the serial is also engraved inside the front and rear cap. On the other hand, the piece which connects the watchs case and the crown is bears the Swiss assay mark too.
