Wonderful antique pocket watch made in Switzerland in the early 20th century and in very good condition. The watch has an 18-carat solid-gold casing with three gold caps. The movement has been thoroughly checked, cleaned and tuned, and today is in great working order. The front cap bears a gorgeous hand-engraved decoration with a lean central circle (perfect to engrave the owners initials, for example) surrounded by a series of radii that go from the center to the edge. The radii divide the cap in small sections, all of them decorated with tiny engraved volutes. Inside the front cap bears the engraved serial number 738 with the corresponding hallmark and the 18K mark. Under the cap remains the elegant white dial, with black Arab numbers and fine cobalt-blue Fassonzeiger hands. The face has a secondary hand too. The watchs rear cap shows off the same decoration as the front cap, though in this case the central circle is smaller and contains a delicate hand-engraved flower. Inside this cap we can see same hallmark, 18K mark and serial number as before, but this time the serial is complete: 42738. Under the rear cap there is one more cap, also made of solid gold and with no decoration at all. In this type of watches, dustcaps are usually made of gold-plated metal; but in this case, this amazing pocket watch has three solid-gold caps. Under this cap we can see the delicate movement under a glass pane. A very special detail that is like the icing on the cake in this antique pocket watch, a real turn-of-the-century jewel. Every lover of old-time watches will appreciate the beauty and detailed artisanal decoration of this antique solid-gold pocket watch, fine and delicate. Measurements: Width: 52 mm. Weight: 91 g.
