Lovely antique verge fusee watch with 18K solid gold case and quarter repeater chime. The watch probably comes from France and is dated mid 19th century (circa 1850). It is in very good condition, with no dings or cracks, and works very well. The 18 karat gold case has a case back and dust cover. The dial of the watch is very simple, with great elegance. It has black Arabic numerals and Louis XVI style hands, in gilded metal and with delicate scrolls. On the back of the watch we see the solid gold back cover, decorated with a very elegant fine lattice. We can also see a smooth oval for engraving the initials of the owner. On the inside of this cover we can see a contrast and the stamp 18 engraved on the metal. Under the back cover is the dust cover. This lid is smooth and has no decoration or engraved inscriptions. It could be the perfect surface to engrave a dedication. Beneath it, the watch's magnificent machinery shines for its complexity and the delicacy of the pieces that make it up, which combine gold and silver metal in a display of precision. Of enormous elegance and timeless design, this antique verge fusee watch in solid gold is a piece that will pass from father to son without losing its attractiveness. Measurements: Width: 53 mm.
