Fine antique solid-silver pocket watch, in very good condition and with a real history behind. This is a Finetti watch, made in Switzerland for the German market. It is dated in 1920-22 and remains in striking, almost flawless condition. The silver casing shows no dents or scratches and the white porcelain dial is intact. The movement has been fully overhauled and cleaned so it works fine. The whole watch is original from the period except for the synthetic-glass pane that protects the dial and keeps it fine. The watchs front and rear cap bear the classic engraved guilloche decoration. The front cap has a central lean circle designed to engrave the owners initials if desired. The central ring where the dial and the movement are mounted is made of gold-plated silver. Inside the front cap we can see the Swiss and German silver marks, the silver proportion (0,800) and the serial number 791956 accompanied by the silversmiths mark. There is another number, A3603. Under the front cap we find the lovely dial with black Arab numerals, secondary hand and golden metal Louis-XV hands. The rear cap bears the same inscriptions and hallmarks as the front cap. The dustcap that rests under it is not only a silver piece with lovely engravings, but shows a very special inscription: R.U.N. - 1 Preis 40 km. 1st 15 M 1922. This indicates that the watch was given as a prize to the winner (first position) of a 40-km race that took place on March/May 15th, 1922. Elegant, authentic and really special, this evocative antique pocket watch with solid-silver casing is an exclusive item full of interest and charm. Measurements: Width: 51 mm.
