Antique 18K solid-gold pocket watch made in Switzerland in the late 19th century (circa 1890) and in really good condition. The watch shows off a classic and stylish design; the casing bears a fine engraved guilloche decoration and non-engraved frontal shield. The Swiss movement has been cleaned and fine-tuned in order to guarantee its good performance, so today the watch is in perfect working order. The shield at the front cap is framed by a fine hand-engraved garland, carefully performed and surprisingly beautiful. If we lift this cap, inside we will find the engraved 18K mark (the golds carats) and the casings serial number at the top: 1365. At the bottom we can see the number 34. Under the front cap rests the fine watchs dial, protected by the original glass panel in good condition. The dial is made of silver; the metal surface is decorated with many engraved and embossed motifs, with fine gold details among which the central image stands out: two birds under a vase with fruits. It has black Roman numbers and discreet black straight metal hands. At the back of the watch, the gold rear cap bears the same marks as the front one engraved in its inner side. Under this cap we can see the dustcap, beautifully decorated with hand-engraved inscriptions in different letterings with information about the watchs movement. Among these inscriptions we find the number 4934, which completes the number 34 engraved in the front caps inner side. This is the movements serial number. If we lift the dustcap, inside we will find again the number 4924 under two initials, AE, and the casings serial stated before, 1356. This cap protects the movement, also covered by a third glass pane. The movement bears the number 4934 engraved in one of its metal component parts. This superb antique 18K solid-gold pocket watch with all its engraved serial numbers will be the best accessory for an elegant collector. Measurements: Width: 51 mm. Weight: 106 g.
