Antique Pocket Watch in 18K Gold by Paul Jeannot. Favory. Geneva, Switzerland, 1900

Big-sized antique 18K solid-gold pocket watch made by Paul Jeannot for Favory Geneve. It comes from Switzerland and is dated circa 1900. Favory Geneve is the commercial brand that produced this model, designed by the Swiss watchmaker master who signs it. The pocket watch stands out for its big size, gorgeous enameled solid-gold design and for being also in an almost MINT condition. It looks new and works perfectly. It comes in its original storing case, a fine solid-wooden box inside covered by purple velvet and satin. The satin lining bears the printed serial number 111635 in great golden lettering; we will find this serial in different parts of the watch too. The case has a compartment to store a spare glass pane. The watchs casing is entirely made of solid gold. Is a heavy piece as it contains a big quantity of this noble metal; this feature turns the pocket watch into a real jewel. The front cap bears a wonderful non-engraved central shield framed by a delicate engraving depicting two kids with leaves instead of legs. The kids are located on top of a garland. The image was engraved by hand with amazing skill, just like the one which adorns the rear cap (an armor helmet). Both engravings have been enhanced with enamel touches. Inside the front cap we can see the engraved name of the watchmaker, Paul Jeannot Geneve, together with the mark 18K and an image of a scale. We can also see the engraved numbers 832 and 35 (the last two numerals of the serial). The dial that rests under the front cap is made of silver with gold details, black Roman numerals, straight cobalt hands and the name FAVORY GENEVE with the serial 111635. In the inner side of the rear cap we find the same engraved marks and inscriptions as in the front cap. Under this part, the lovely dustcap bears some engraved inscriptions such as the serial number and the company name. Last but not least, the watchs movement is protected by a glass pane; through it we can see again the engraved words Factory Geneve nº 111635.
