Antique pocket chronometer watch for French artillery officer used in World War I. This fine and sober watch was made in France circa 1915 and remains in excellent working order. It boasts a stylish and attractive design; moreover, its movement has been cleaned and tuned in order to guarantee an optimal performance. The watch has a lean steel casing; inside the casing, behind the dustcap we find a small instruction leaflet original from the time. It is a circular piece of paper with the instructions in French, printed in red lettering. The watchs casing bears no decoration at all and shows a lean and flat surface. The steel is in striking condition, with no traces of rust or wear. If we open the rear cap, inside we will see a small engraved number 3; it is the only mark engraved of the whole casing. The front side of the watch bears no steel cap and we can see the dial directly under the glass pane. The dial is a fine element: with white background and black Arab numerals, it mounts straight coppery-metal hands and a cobalt-blue secondary hand. At the dial, framing the center we can see a series of concentric circles in three colors (blue, red and green) with different numerations. These elements are part of the chronometer. The dial is in wonderful condition and shows no cracks, dents or worn parts. This way, the chronometer can be used today just like when it was made, almost one hundred years ago. This antique pocket chronometer watch for artillery officer is an original piece used during World War I. It is the perfect item to become part of a good collection of historical antiques.
