Antique Omega solid-silver pocket watch coming from Switzerland and made circa 190. The watch stands out for its good condition and great working order, with the high quality which identifies the prestigious and historic watchmaking brand. The watchs movement is quite clean and has been revised to guarantee a great performance, so today the watch works wonderfully and keeps perfectly the time. The solid-silver case combines parts of lean silver with gold-plated zones, such as the crown that frames the dial and the one that surrounds the rear cap. The white dial, protected by the original glass pane, bears black Arab numerals and straight golden metal hands. The brand name OMEGA is printed in black lettering, easily visible. The rear cap is adorned with handmade guilloche decoration and a non-engraved central shield. If we lift this cap, we will find some hallmarks and inscription: the brand name and logo, the silver proportion (0,800) and the serial number 8129352. There is a hallmark which marks German silver; this means that the watch was made to be exported to this country. The dustcap bears the same hallmarks and inscriptions. The movement bears the engraved OMEGA brand name and the serial number 7720866. This striking antique Omega solid-silver pocket watch shows off the high quality and fine design typical of an iconic brand which is part of the history of modern watchmaking. Measurements: Width: 52 mm.Omega Watches - History Omega is one of the most renowned watchmakers in the world. It was founded in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1848. Its founder was Louis Brandt. From then on and to this day (currently the brand belongs to the Swatch group), the firm has developed striking designs and movements that have spread its quality all over the world. In 1900 Omega got the Grand Prix in the Paris World Fair, and during the 20th century they became official timekeeper of the Olympic Games. The watch that wore the first man on the moon was also an Omega: the Omega Speedmaster that Neil Armstrong wore during the landing.
