Antique 18K Gold Quarter Repeater Pocket Watch. Neuchâtel, Switzerland, Circa 1850

Antique 18K gold quarter repeater pocket watch made in Neuchâtel, Switzerland in the mid-19th century (circa 1850). The watch works fine, and so does the repeater mechanism. The watchs design shows clearly its ancient age, with a sober and classic style that still keeps its great charm. The pocket watch comes with the original winding key, also made in the same period and really beautiful. The dial bears black Arab numerals and Breguet-style hand. At the bottom we can see this inscription: a Gme. Hy. GUYE. It is protected by the original glass pane. The rear cap bears a guilloche decoration with an oval shape bound to contain the owners engraved initials, but still with none. Its inner side bears an engraved serial number and a hallmark. If we lift this cap we will see the dustcap, decorated with a series of inscriptions describing the movement engraved by hand in different types of lettering.
