Beautiful Omega solid-silver pocket watch made in Switzerland circa 1900 and in amazing condition. The watchs movement is clean and finely preserved, and it also shows a great working order. The watch bears the Swiss silvers hallmark (a capercaillie) and the one which marks German silver pieces. This indicates it was made in Switzerland to be exported to the German market. The front cap is made of gold-plated silver and glass; it protects a white dial with black Arab numerals and golden-metal Louis-XV hands. It is in optimal condition and bears the jewelrys name in black capital lettering. The rear cap is decorated with a guilloche motif and has a central non-engraved shield. Under this cap we find the dustcap, the piece which protects the movement. It is decorated with four gold-plated medals which stand for the prizes awarded to the brand. Both caps are made of solid silver and bear their corresponding hallmarks, including the Omega mark and the silver proportion (0,800). We can also see the engraved serial number 4966333. Under the dustcap the movement shines in all its glory. It bears the engraved OMEGA brand name in the ancient-looking lettering which identifies the brand, and the serial number 413593. This beautiful Omega solid-silver pocket watch preserves the attractive of all the models produced by the iconic brand, and their good working order too. From then on and to this day (currently the brand belongs to the Swatch group), the firm has developed striking designs and movements that have spread its quality all over the world. In 1900 Omega got the Grand Prix in the Paris World Fair, and during the 20th century they became official timekeeper of the Olympic Games. The watch that wore the first man on the moon was also an Omega: the Omega Speedmaster that Neil Armstrong wore during the landing.
